Griffin,

I want to be the first to extend a welcome to the 2022-23 school year at Garfield Middle School. As your principal, I am looking forward to working with you to ensure we have a successful school year.  My excitement and enthusiasm to be the Garfield principal come from my belief in our city and our district.

I was born and raised in Hamilton, and I have spent my entire career with the district, starting as a teacher at the Hamilton Freshman Building and most recently as an assistant principal at Hamilton High School.  Student-centered growth, relationships, school safety, and empowerment are all a part of what I believe to be the source of who I am as an educator, and what ultimately produces a successful school culture. 

Sharing this belief, I am pleased to have Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Beumer joining the Garfield administrative team.  Both bring exceptional knowledge of our district and will be a continued part of the growth of Garfield.

The staff at GMS is thoroughly excited about your return, and our custodial staff has been hard at work preparing the building for a great school year!
