Attendance Procedures

 

Absent or Tardy If a student is going to be absent from school or will be tardy, please make every attempt to contact the office as soon as possible.

 

Attendance Hotline Absences will be unexcused unless the school has received a phone call from the parent or guardian on or before the day of the absence, a parent/ guardian note, or a doctor’s note within two school days of the student’s return to school.

 

The educational program offered by this district is based upon the presence of the student and requires continuity of instruction and classroom participation. Attendance shall be required of all students enrolled in the schools during the days and hours that the school is in session or during the attendance sessions to which she/he has been assigned. Please note that vacation requests are considered on a case by case basis and may be considered unexcused absences.

 

A student is considered tardy if they are not in their first-period classroom by 8:20 will be sent to the office and be considered tardy to school.  Any student who is tardy to school must sign in at the office and will be given a pass to class. Three unexcused tardies is equivalent to one absence from school.

 

To have an excused tardy, the student must bring a note from a parent/guardian stating the reason for the tardiness or a parent/guardian must call the school or come into the office to sign the student in.  Any person entering the building is expected to present valid identification (driver’s license) to the office staff. Early Dismissal If a student must leave school early, a parent or guardian must come into the office to sign the student out of school. Please be prepared to show a valid form of identification when entering the school.
